"Farming in Nepal"

"Farming in Nepal"
Nepal is an agricultural country. Around 75 % of people are engaged in this occupation. Farming is one the most important occupation of Nepalese people because it is the means of livelihood of the Nepalese people and it is the income generating source of them.
In farming, different crops such as food crops and cash crops are grown in Nepal. Food crops such as maize, wheat, barley, paddy etc. are grown whereas cash crops such as jute, cotton, tea, sugarcane etc. are grown. Food crops are grown by the farmers for their food whereas cash crops are grown for generating money or income. The major crops grown in the terai region is paddy because of its fertile land. Maize, wheat, millet are grown in the hilly region whereas potato, barley etc. are grown in the mountain region because of its climate.
A Nepalese person has adapted the traditional method for farming which creates very difficulties to work and produce productivity. Traditional tools like plough, sickle etc are used by the farmers, which is not suitable for growing more crops. Modern methods are not adapted by the farmers because they are not well known about the modern tools and technology. According to the junior technician assistance Mr. Agawam, Farming is the occupation which is performed by using modern tools and technicians for crops yielding. But we the Nepalese people are not able to adopt the modern tools and technology so Nepal is backward in farming sector because of illiteracy and ignorance.
In the context of Nepal, government is not fully dependent in the agricultural sector. So the government support is less in the agriculture. There are many problems in the farming in the context of Nepal. A facility of irrigation is not available in all the parts, provisions of manures and medicines are not available for all the farmers. Farmers are not well informed about the farming and the modern tools and technology. So, far this farmer should be made well informed about the modern tools and technology. Government should send the JT, JTA in all places of the country Training should be given to the farmer's foe increasing the producing. Provisions of manures and medicines should be made available.
In conclusion, farming is the best occupation for Nepalese people so in order to make these sectors make effective farmers should be aware about the modern tools and technology and government should provide big support to the farmers and farming sector.
