3.    a.     The area of a square is the square of it's length (l). What is the area of the square?
       b.    Find the product of 2a2bx(-3ab2)
4.    a.     How many arabs are there in 20 billion.
       b.    In the adjoining figure PQ½½RS. Find the value of x.

5.    a.     Write all possible subset of the set v={a,e,i}
       b.    Express the set C={1,2,5,10} in set-builder method.
6.    a.     Write the numeral in short form and write the number name 8´107+6´104+5´103+4´101
       b.    Simplify:   35-{30-11+5)¸3}
7.    a.     Find the H.C.F. of 60 and 75 by factorization method.
       b.    Find the L.C.M. f 40 and 60 by division method.



8.    a.     Find the smallest number by which when 75 is multiplied it becomes a perfect square.
       b.    Find the square root of 2025.
9.    a.     What should be added to  4x-5 t get 7x+2?
       b.    Add:   x2+y2 and 3x2+4y2
10.  Simplify:
       a.     7a-3b-(2b+3a)                      b. –xy´3x-(-xy)´2y
11.  Multiply   
       a.     -2xy(3x2-5xy-4y2)     b. (3x+4y)(3x-4y)
12.  a.     If a0 and 600 make an angle of quarter turn, find the size of a0.
       b.    If 2x0 and 3x0 are co-interior angles, find them.
13.  Find the size of unknown angles.

14.  If P={1,2,3,5,7} and Q={2,3,4,5,8,9}, Find PÈQ and PÇQ. Show them in diagram separately.
15.  If x is at hundreds place y is at tens place and z is at ones place, write the number formed by these digits.
16.  Simplify: 72¸12[180¸4{10+(15-45¸9´2)}]
17.  Find the greatest number of students to whom 36 apples and 54 mangoes can be equally divided. How many apples and mangoes will each get?
18.  Three bells rings at the intervals of 10, 15 and 20 minutes respectively. If they all ring at 10:00 am at once. At what time will they ring together again?
19.  If the product of three identical numbers is 5832, find one of the numbers.
20.  If y=3x+1 and x is a variable on the set B={1,3,5}, find the possible values of y.
21.  If p=4x, q=3x and x=3, find the value of .
22.  If the length and breadth of rectangle are 6cm and 4cm respectively, find it's perimeter and area.
23.  If a=x+y and b=2x-3y show that 3a+2b=7x-3y.
24.  If a=(2x-5) and b=(2x+5) show that =x2.
25.  Construct the 1050 angle by using compasses.



26.  Find the sizes of unknown angles.
 











27.  Copy the diagram and calculate the sizes of x0,y0, z0. What is the sum of the angles of the triangle?
