Baitadi, June 10: A 68 – year – old mother in Dillasaini rural municipality – 1 here is elated at the prospect of the local polls taking place almost two decades after, but she finds herself at a crossroad.
Janjaali
Rana's two sons are contesting for the rural municipality's top job from two
different political parties.
Her
elder son Karna Bahadur Rana has been named the candidate from Nepali Congress
for the post of the municipality's chair while her youngest son Lokendra Rana
(Shital) has been named CPN (Maoist Centre) candidate for the same post.
"Both
the sons are the same for me, I don't know who I am going to vote for?"
Janjaali says."If it had been possible, I would vote for both the
sons," she added.
She
is filled with joy that her two sons are contesting the elections but is
equally concerned that she can only cast a single vote to choose the rural
municipality's head.
Karna
Bahadur Rana said, "My brother is contesting with Maoist Centre's ticket.
We were born of the same mother. If my father likes Congress' ideology he will
vote for me otherwise it will be the Maoist Centre."
"I
am confident that my father will vote for me whereas mother will vote for my
brother," Rana added.
On
the other hand, the youngest son, Lokendra Rana, says he is confident that his
father will vote for him to make him win. The local villages in Dillasaini too
are caught in a dilemma. They are not yet decided. RSS
