Morang District

Kirant king 'Hang' had ruled the place where Morang exists at present. The administrative areas of hang were called as 'Mawarang'. Morang is supposed to be the transliteration of the same word.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Because this district used to lie under aegis of Morang Pradesh prior to the unification of Nepal, it was histirically associated with the history of morang Pradesh when palpa was in the rule of Rudra Sen . In expanding this regime toward eastern terai Lohang Sen ,the youngest son of mukunda sen had incorporated the area upto the Koshi river . A confdlict arose between Bijay Narayan and is minister (diwan) at that time. The death of bijay narayan at that time gave Lohang easy possession of the Pradesh. The cabinet, as per the consensus , was hand over to kirant.Raghav Sen , the eldest son of Lohang Sen followed by Harirar Sen ruled after the Lohang Sen. Making Indu biedhata Sen ,orphan grandson of the harihar sen and son of his deceased son Chhatrapati Sen ,the king east of koshi,Harihar Sen passed away. His youngest son Shuba  Sen had got the region west to koshi.
During the reign of king Rana bhadur shahin 1783 A.D. the boundary of Nepal had extended to Kamoun-Garwal in the west and tista river in tista east  In 1814 AD, east india companu under the british government , annexed Dhanpur and kumarkhod ,jhapa bazaar.Unfortunately, the sugauli treaty of 4 march, 1816 AD, narrowed the size of country and Nepal became the eastern frontrier of Nepal forever.
